Aroma has a lot of fruity notes. A sweet malt base balanced nicely by mild hops.
Some pineapple and other tropical fruit. Almost a hint of banana. Some bready, bottle-conditioned yeast in there.
Wow, a lot of alcohol seemed to fill my nasal cavity after the first mouthful. This could be my somewhat inhibited sense of smell messing with the tastes.
Otherwise, quite a light body consisting mostly of sweet malt and bready yeast. The finish is warm/alcoholic, with a tangy fruit bitterness from the hops.
Quite effervescent, perhaps only because the name suggests.

I was curious as to whether this beer would be bland and boring, and what do you know, it was. Must have been some aussies in the crowd or something. Pours a somewhat hazy golden color with a foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma is grainy with pale malt and floral hops. Ok but not great. Flavor is average, a little bland and BMCish but has some decent notes to it. Biscuity pale malt, grain, and some mild yeastiness. Body is medium-light and palate is pretty crisp. This is not terrible for the style, I guess, but overall I think it falls on the crappier side of average. 50yroldbeerguy (5), British Columbia, Canada does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Interesting beer...having to roll it before I drink it. Pours a clear light brown with a finger head. Stunning lacing. I got some caramel and orange aroma. Lovely esthery taste, maybe a little biscuit malt and banana. Tightly carbonated mouthfeel . | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2009 From a 375ml bottle on 31/12/2009. Arguably the best beer you can buy with a screw top. Coopers ’Red’ is an Aussie gem - a big, meaty, fruity experience with a nice sweet/sour balance and real character. It’s rare to find a mass produced brew which is so distinctive. I haven’t found another beer (aside from the more subdued Coopers Pale) which tastes similar. MoritzF (5122), Bochum, Germany

Slightly dusty and yeasty pale malty aroma with subtle fruity notes of citrus and mango. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate, slightly sparkling carbonation. Malty, slightly yeasty and bready taste with light fruity and flowery notes; moderately dry and slightly bitter, also shy floral and fruity hoppy finish. Finally not bad. 21.XII.09 drseusszb200 (219), Florida, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours a pale yellow with a small head. The aroma is grainy, slightly sour, and smells like homebrew yeast. The taste is very dry, mouth puckeringly dry. Simple, and slightly off putting. Cole (320), , Alberta, Canada
