Commercial Description:
Coopers Sparkling Ale is brewed naturally by the centuries-old top fermentation method just as it was in the beginning by Thomas Cooper. This beer displays a solid head and a distinctive, full-bodied flavour enhanced by a soft, fruity character and the sediment which gives it a cloudy appearance.

For some reason the aroma is somewhat dairy from this bottled example. Hint of citrus, too. The head isn’t as advertised, either. I’m starting to doubt whether my mom’s glassware is as clean as it appears. Quaffable, with what I think could be described as yeast and orange peel on the flavour. In a sense it reminds me a bit of a witbier.

Bottle: Poured a bright clear golden color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry cereal with light lingering sweetness. Taste is also dominated by some unrefined malt notes and light sweetness with a dry finish with no discernible hops. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nothing to write home about at the end of the day with a sub-standard malt bill.

Pours hazy gold and cloudy. Has sediment floating around and very carbonated like any coopers brew with bubbles rising to the top. The nose is very sweet and malty with undertones of apple. The taste is apple and tingles the tongue and does settle well on the palate. Has a candy like aftertaste that is peare or apple sour lasting.

Slightly cloudy gold pour, white head. Mostly malt, some grain and light apple, light citrusy hops. Boring and easy drinking.

375 mL Bottle. Gold body with a fluffy white head that settles to a foamy ring with some lacing. Aroma sweet malt with notes of apple, floral, yeast, and faint innuendos of banana, citrus peel, and honey. Sweet malt flavor with a cherry candy aftertaste, a hop bitter lingers in the finish to make it complete. Very smooth in the mouth. This is an unpasteurized bottle-conditioned beer with sediment on the bottom allowing it to show its true character; brownie points for this part. This Real Aussie Ale is a fine brew, mates!

Poured from the bottle cloudy amber with the yeast sediment. Hints of clove and citrus on the nose. Complexity of a smooth, stick to the tougue sweetness that finishes off with good bitterness and hop notes.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a short lived white head. Aroma is fairly grainy but has notes of citrus, honey and some mild floral hops. Flavour is much the same with some extra woody and nutty elements. Palate is dry with a fair amount of bitterness at the end. I have found over the years that this beer can vary a bit from batch to batch so will re-rate if I get a noticeably different one in the future.
