3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Plonk (2013 vintage). Dark amber/brown, strong malt characters, some alcohol evident, earthy, rich caramel/butterscotch, quite bitter without much hop aroma or flavour. Ok.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 345 ml bottle. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a small cream head and lively carbonation. Aromas of pine, noble hops, lemon, flowers and caramel. The taste starts with fresh fruit (plum or fig?) before a restrained hop bitterness comes in, adding some pine notes. Bitter lemony finish with a spicy aftertaste. Enjoyed this.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good quality ale - very English style so more malt than hops. I’m into APA hop bombs so am not enamoured with this style and my points reflect that.

Stunning beer from the Masters of Oz Brewing. Rich, full, delicious-would hold its own against any top Belgian or USA counterparts. Best beer in the country-only observation is it hits you like a jackhammer, seems to be stronger than 7.5%!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle. Clear orange-brown amber colour, foam white head and aroma of malt & light citrus hop. Taste is malt caramel with toffee, tangy citrus orange and a spicy hop bitterness, plus earthy warming alcohol notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a very hazy dark brown color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is quite malty and strong with some alcohol notes and very reminiscent of a barley wine. Taste is a little strong with some alcohol notes in there and just a hint of sweetness. Not a huge fan, but decent.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle 2009 vintage. Amber with small head. Bready and quite sweet, light booze. The age has definitely smoothed it out nicely.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
2007 dated so a bit over the suggested 5 years, still pours with a decent long lasting head. Aroma of dark fruits dominates over a gentle maltiness, perhaps fig and prune. A little thin in body and flavour doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. Still a good beer worth seeking out.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very malty, from the begining to the finish. Malt malt malt, with a backbone of alcohol, that oakish bourbon barrel - quite noticeable, but nice. Pleasant beer.
