Big malty nose. OK head on a copper body. Taste is big and malty, with a certain sweetness and distinct alcohol punch. Quite smooth. A nice ale.

Aug 13, 2008 12.7 oz bottle from GM liquors; Says best after 07 06 07 Nose is caramel, vanilla, and sweetness; cloudy copper with a medium beige head; flavor has light hop bitterness, toffee, and a little fruity tone; finishes with light bitterness and a little alcohol warmth! A lighter version of some of the newer American Strong Ales!

Pours hazy orangish copper with a thick off white head. Aroma is very strong caramel, some nutty and lighter fruity plum and apple tones.
Flavour is sweet toffee and molasses, woody, vanilla. Some light fruit and alc. in the finish.
Subtle bitterness at the end.

Jul 21, 2008 Bottle from Johns Marketplace in PDX--Poured a sharp amber-brown body with a quaint little white head. Nutty, grainy, floral nose. Slightly metallic, but not overly so. Thick, fruity, well-balanced. Mild hints of wood and booze. Very nice finish of subtle esters and caramel, honey, and vanilla.
