Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Mar 18, 2006 Draft. Pours dark clear reddish copper with a medium off white head. Aroma is light hops, strong sweet malts as is typical for Coops. Served with a little bag of Cascade hops, although I’m not sure this did anything for the beer. Taste was almost syrupy sweet, slight sourness with kinda clashed with the hops. Drinkable but not one of Coopersmiths’ best offerings. DavidP (1698), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 26, 2004 This beer was a bit gimmicky, as each pint is servied with a litle paper coffee filter-ish bag of whole hop cones. Draft on nitro. Crystal-clear amber body, rich white nitro head. Has a dry, woody wheat bread start with a touch of caramel sweetness. Finishes with some oily hoppiness, but it’s not too strong. The nitro seems to retard the otherwise enjoayable flavor.
