Ernest (4171), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 11, 2005 Draught.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (cookie), trace hops (flowers), with light notes of peach and diacetyl.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
What? 7.8%? Really? That doesn’t explain the thin body very well, but so be it. Otherwise it’s not too bad of a brew, but there’s also not much to recommend it. Rather plain. (making correction based on brewer website...it’s actually just over 6%, which makes more sense) Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Sep 2, 2004 Alcoholic aroma. Not much of a head. Appearance is very light. Taste is malty enough, with a big punch of alcohol that fits the beer well. Also some serious hopping going on, mainly contributing to bitterness. Decent stuff.
