App: Very dark brown, nearly black with a small, white head. Redness shinse through when held before the light.
Ar: Smells of burnt chocolate overwhelmingly with some smokiness, too
T: The chocolate is at the forefront. Some roasted coffee and malt in the aftertaste.
P: Not overwhelmingly heavy, but definitely a lot of body in this one.Creamy feel on the swallow.
Definitely one of the more drinkable brown ales I’ve had, with its good taste and decent body. One of my favorites at Coopersmith’s.

Draft at brewery Aug ’08: Poured a murky dark brown with not much head. The aroma was malty and nutty. The flavor wasn’t all there. Caramel, nuts, dark fruit, and malts were present. Overall, a tad watered down for a brown, but very easy to drink.
