3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Crosling (1861) - Loveland, USA - DEC 12, 2004
Seperately I really enjoyed the malt flavor and the yeast contribution but they didn’t work together in a cohesive manner. Odd really. Light golden. Nose of clove, banana, spicy hops and Belgian malts. A definately Belgian feel, I’ll give them that, but I wish this would have been a little hoppier. Notes of clove, banana, raspberries, apricot and oh, this is also quite sweet, perhaps they used candy sugars.

On tap @ Coopersmiths. Pours a touch hazy, yellow-orange appearance with a frothy white head. Quite fruity (banana, apple, pineapple), sweet, light yeasty, Belgian ale nose. A touch tart, creamy, medium Belgian yeast, a bit bitter, but mostly a strong Belgian blonde ale flavor. Pretty good.

They must have changed the recipe since the last rating of this beer, because it is currently listed on their menu in the mid-6% range, and the beer is quite dry now, lacing any of the candi sugar sweetness noted in some of the ratings - anyway - starts of tangy and lightly estery - moderate beligan phenols throughout - flinty dryness - crackery malts - the fainest touch of horseblanket - crisp, herbal bitterness in the finish - nice.

peaches, floral hops, a bit of fruity mango and milky lemon aroma. grassy lemon herb with a yeasty earth tang to the flavor that also has some orange pee, caraeml and some buttery goodness.a lot of floral oing here with a nice apple juice flavor. apricot lingers with a tingling mouthfeel.

Agree with Ernest on this one. Not trying to do anything unique with this one. Very marginal, button pushed, recipe followed, an obligatory American take on a Belgian style. All your typical flavors are here, a bit muskier than I was expecting and way too light.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5184) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 24, 2005
Draught, Coopersmiths, Ft Collins.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of banana, clove, and coriander.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Typical American take on Belgian blondes...obligatory banana and clove and not a lot of anything else. They might have tossed some coriander into this one, but the bottom line is this is just going through the motions. It’s cookie-cutter and vague, not trying to be a distinctive Belgian.

Draught at CooperSmiths. Pours golden amber with an edgy small white head. Yeast (dough, barn) and malt aromas with notes of banana and fig, fruity hops. Bitter sour yeast and hop flavor with a malty wheat body. Medium bodied and fizzy, thin palate.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2004
Clear golden. Light estery aroma. Medium bodied. Alcohol is apparent, but pretty well covered. Clove flavors, not overly sweet. Finish becomes a little too bitter and grainy for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beaver (913) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 9, 2004
The Razzmatazz poured a dark reddish golden. It had a creamy white head that went to a thin film and laced the glass.
The aroma was spicy hops, yeast, and a subtle fruitiness and bananas.
The flavor was spices, bananas and yeast with a bitter Saaz hop finish. It had a good malt backbone. It had a little acidic citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and smooth.
Overall, it was a decent Belgian. Too much bananas for my taste.
