Bloodied chestnut with spent yeast particles. Sticky tan froth. Steady, scattered carbonation. Aroma of roasted peanuts, caramel, dry chocolate and plums. Fizzy, caramelled and airy with a roasted aftertaste. Solid chocolate, dark caramel and mild dry roasted coffee beneath the wall of carbonation. Mostly dry. Medium light body. Barely a hint of fruity yeast. More like a subtle counter to the dark malt flavors. Finishes dryly malty with a lingering peanut and coffee essence. Lose the carb and this would be a great session Porter. Could be old though.

A spicy porter that comes off the bench nicely to replace other porters when I want a change. Sweet and sour meld together in this tasty porter thatís true to style.

A very deep garnet on the pour, the head is generous and light tan, the lace is in sheets. Nose is malt, caramel, a bit smokey maybe, earthy. Front is malt and lightly sweet, the top is light, much to my surprise and pleasure, there is a nice hop bitter finish. Dry, acidic and quite quaffable, and well worth the try. Ranks #412 on my current 1000 master beer list.

A good example of malts and hops being pretty well balanced. That said, it wasnít the most complex besides that. The body seemed a little thin and the aroma left a little to be desired. Also, it seemd overly smooth. I can understanf how brewers want the beers to be smooth, and while this is OK for other drinks, I donít mind a little grittiness in a porter.

Great dark color. Nice malty smell. I thought it was very tasteful, really enjoyable.

Very flavorful! Aroma is kind of indistinct, but the flavor rules; heavily malty, but with major hop bitterness throughout and heavy carbonation, this one really gets all over the mouth. And in a very good way. Iím glad I have one more. Thanks, Jayme.

Wonderful aroma and decent head. The flavor was fairly rich and creamy, but almost stoutlike. Also, there seemed to be an odd infusion of a caramel/bock/soapy taste. Worth the try - cool baseball bottlecap.

Deep dark ruby red/brown. Nice head and lace. Big malt and cocoa nose. Reminds me of there strike out. Nice and smooth with definite roasted malt and coffee flavors,add some cocoa and a bitter finish and you have a damn tasty porter. Strikingly similar to the stout. Will have to sample them together.
