(X-mas 05) This poured a very large tan head that was thick and chewy and did not die. Later when I poured in the end of the bottle, it made a little hole in the head and raised it all on top of the new expanding head. Very good. Oh, it also had a nice sweet malt aroma. Nice creamy mouthfeel with a sweet and fruity flavor. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a clear cola brown with a medium to thick sized beige head. Sweet plum and pineapple paper. Medium bodied, very sweet and full of paper. Roast and weird infected sweetness. Quite unpleasant and not so tasty.

I think this is Cooperstown Brewing Company’s best offering. It’s a pleasant coffee color with a sweet malty aroma. It’s a smooth sipper with a balanced body, not too heavy. A porter that can serve as a session beer. It begs to be paired with burgers and dogs or a cheap steak.

Had a nice aroma with chocolate malt shining through. Decent head and carbonation, but tasting it seemed a bit light and also maybe a slight sanitizer type taste.

Bottle, 06/14/2012. Pours deep, rich brown, beige head. Aroma of lightly roasted chocolate malts, nutty, touch of darker coffee. Taste has light chocolate, maybe some cola notes, slight ash and roast, mild bitterness. Light body from this bottle, wishing for more depth. Ok.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a huge foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was lightly roasty and woody with hints of anise and coffee. The flavor was dry, bitter, roasty and had notes of coffee and anise. Medium finish and body. Not really my style.

Pours dark brown, very light, fizzy head. Very lively CO2 makes it almost like a soda. Aroma hints of caramel and bread, but not very distinctive. Not a great beer, but ok to try.

Bottle - 12oz. Pours a black opaque body with a huge beige foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with roasted cereals and some coffeeish hints. Taste is dominated by roastiness. Some oaky notes are also noticeable. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a sharp bitter/roasty finish. Solid Porter, not for lager people.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a tan head. Aromas of roast and coffee. The flavor found roast, chocolate, and a light coffee backing. Light to medium body.

Raven-colored with ruby highlights and a soft, poofy beige head.Enjoyable rough, roasty black patent nose, full of chilled air heated by a burst of charcoal. Old world roasty porter flavor--again, it’s full of charcoal, black patent and some ash. A beer that is everything a benchwarmer deserves. Enjoyable.
