2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ben4321 (2988) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Location: Sampled at Tap NY, 4/27/13
Aroma: The nose of this beer comes off as overly sweet, fruity, and a bit malty as well
Appearance: The one pours a reddish-orange color with a small off-white head
Flavor: The taste is pretty much just like the nose, overly sweet, fruity and malty
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a decent feel, though it does get a little bit sticky
Overall Impression:
I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. It just drank too sweetly for my tastes, and lacked the balance I was looking for. It isn’t terrible, but it isn’t really that good either.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 j12601 (5609) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - APR 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours a hazed amber with a crimson hue and a medium sized beige head that deflates quickly. Sweet fruity plum, oxidization, and a touch of paper. Medium bodied, a touch of sourness and a tartness. This one definitely got infected, but it’s not horrible. Seems to work somehow. Tart and sweet, oxidization and a bit of paper. Papery infection on the back end. Drinkable, and given the nose, turned out better than expected, but probably not what it was meant to be. Still sort of enjoyed it.

Aroma is sweetish malts and hint of vinous notes. The flavor is fruit/berries, medium sweetness and a mix of smooth and tangy in the finish.

Picked up at the brewery during a trip to Cooperstown. Was not impressed with the place after visiting Ommegang first. Fruity taste, even though it is not a fruit beer. Of the beers sampled at the brewery it was the best, but overall, just OK, nothing special.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 xelabeer (7) - GUATEMALA - JUN 16, 2012 does not count
Poured a nice copper color, but had very little off white head which quickly dissipated. Aroma was a bit of sourish cherries with caramel malt underneath. Had low carbonation which was ok for this beer and overall balanced for the % alcohol with a bit of a fruity/cherry finish.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a heavily carbonated orange-caramel color with a large foamy off white head that left no lacing. The aroma was ripe cherries, figs and pears with faint caramel and bread underneath. The flavor was tangy caramel and butterscotch with notes of pear, apple, raisin and fig underneath. The finish was short with a touch of bread and fruit. Light to medium body but overcarbonated. Eh.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2011 Tap @ the Brewery, Milford, NY. Served in taster glass. Also had in a 12 oz bottle from the brewery. Nose of caramel and toffee candy, but not too sugary or rich. Also, dark fruit notes with a cereal malt flavor. Nice flavor in this one, some complexity. Flavor is malty and sweet, reminds me of a barleywine, caramel as well as English hops. Medium-full body. Very drinkable, alcohol is not evident at all. Finishes with a light bitter lingering finish. Nice brew.
