COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Pride of Milford" is a very special ale with a tapestry of complex flavors and aromas. It is brewed with five malts and fermented with the Ringwood yeast at a higher temperature which gives this beer a uniqueness all its own. "Pride" has a distinctive reddish copper color. It is strong and rich beer. When "Pride" was first brewed in December 1999, many thought the flavor and aromas of this beer had fruit overtones. No fruit or adjunct flavoring is added to this beer.

12oz traded bottle. No clue what to expect based on the label art. Pours an orange-amber colour with a big, foamy, eggshell head and plenty of lacing. Pretty big aroma of sweet malt and a little alcohol. Pretty bold flavour that reminds me of brown sugar. Honestly, a pretty tasty beer!

Bottle. Pours deep copper with red hints and a small bubbly tan head. Aromas of caramel malts, red fruit, berry, and grass. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, berry, and cherry. Pleasantly sweet with a little sour cherry and bitter sappy pine in the finish. Medium carbonation and a little sticky and creamy. Pretty good.

Hefty nose of caramel and tea. Dark amber with minimal head and spotty floaty stuff. Interesting palate with big initial burst of flavor then reduced to that which I smelled initially. The flavor burst is full, a bit hoppy, a bit of wood, toffee. Very interesting and good. Thanks for the trade Ron!

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2011 Tap @ the Brewery, Milford, NY. Served in taster glass. Also had in a 12 oz bottle from the brewery. Nose of caramel and toffee candy, but not too sugary or rich. Also, dark fruit notes with a cereal malt flavor. Nice flavor in this one, some complexity. Flavor is malty and sweet, reminds me of a barleywine, caramel as well as English hops. Medium-full body. Very drinkable, alcohol is not evident at all. Finishes with a light bitter lingering finish. Nice brew.

Small off-white head recedes into almost nothing very quickly, reddish body, fruity nose. Medium sweetness, fruity flavor. Too much carbonation for the style. No particular alcohol presence. Ringwood character does come through.

Good fruity smell with a nice amber colour. The pour looked thick as the beer coated the side of the glass. Somewhat wierd taste, but not very strong. Not a bad beer, just not much taste as I had expected.
