Commercial Description:
Striker Brown Ale is similar to an English brown ale "with a little more muscle," Land said, and is a "soccer-themed beer." "It’s a smooth brown that’s not topped off with any hops," Land said. "It’s got a very clean finish." --Oneonta Daily Star

Bottle purchased in Cooperstown. Clear amber-brown body with a creamy head. Smells like toffee, sweet coffee and a note of milk chocolate. Same flavor profile and is medium sweet with little balancing character of any sort. Thin body—desperately needs to be brewed at a higher mash temperature, I think. Soda-like in flavor and feel. Reminds me of a chocolate-caramel soda. Thin and lacking in depth, much like the MLS.

May 2006 - Yet another beer from my Dad’s trip to Syracuse that he "imported" back to Delaware. Beer poured with darkish brown color, nice head, almost no aroma. Flavor was bitter and metallic at first sip. As it warmed, a little more flavor came out and the beer rose to the "respectable" level. Caramel flavor with strongish nut presence...maybe a touch of unsweetened chocolate/cocoa flavor. Bitterness faded a bit as it warmed, but the metallic aftertaste carried on. Yet another "blah" effort from Cooperstown Brewery...upon which I can only bestow the praise of having a really cool cap (looks like a baseball).

Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and a light touch of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and straw, leading to a dry and slgihtly bitter finish. A fine brown ale. Thanks to my friend Lez White in Baltimore for supplying me with this one.

Bottle. Opaque reddish black in color. 3/4" head. Sudsy. Roasted nuts, smoky (could be the fire I’m sitting next to), malty. Smooth, but again, watery thin body. Nutty finish on the roof of mouth.
