3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (7583) - Woodland, USA - FEB 7, 2009
Tap at Bistro DIPA festival. Hazy orange color with a creamy off-white head. Aromas of hop, malt and something really floral. Flavor is much the same. Approaching full body. Finishes rather malty with smooth resin/floral hop. Not very bitter. Just very good.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ratman197 (5928) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 11, 2009
On tap at Bistro DIPA Fest poured a cloudy amber with a lingering ring of ivory foam. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, light pine and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, apricot and orange with a smooth lightly bitter finish.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 golubj (1376) - San Mateo, California, USA - FEB 10, 2009
Draft at the SF beer week event at Sonoma Chicken Coop in Campbell, and I am assuming this is the same one they had at the Bistro IIPA fest. They apparently brewed this because it was the brewery’s anniversary as well. Orange pour, cloudy and no head. Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malt and citrus and bittering earthy hops. Flavor is pretty standard for the style, nothing outstanding, but solid as well. Sweet overall, with good citrus and aggressive hopping making it pretty bitter. Actually really similar to the Drakes Denoggonizer I had a week ago.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 ryanknock (150) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 9, 2009
Toast, yeast and grass in the nose. Very light body, very light amber-orange. Flavor like the nose. Dry, fruity, lightly sweet finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 marcus (4054) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 8, 2009
On tap at Bistro DIPA Fest. This amber ale poured with a modest beige head and a floral aroma. This is a well-crafted DIPA with a flavor typical to the style, although I found the finish to be quite bitter.
