Batch 19 is derived from a recipe found in an old logbook discovered in brewery archives dating back before 1919, when Prohibition banned beer throughout the country. Prohibition was enforced in Colorado in 1916. The pre-Prohibition style lager delivers a bold, hoppy flavor that is surprisingly well balanced. Test market in Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, San Jose, and Washington DC.

Bottle. Smells like a typical cheap beer. Pours clear, light orange, heavily carbonated. Tastes like a cheap beer. Did not know it was Coors when I bought it. Tried to look past it. Wife and I both poured it out.

You’ve got to give credit where credit is due. As someone who loves craft brews, I don’t exactly rush out to buy the latest releases from macrobreweries. Still, I couldn’t turn down the chance to have a "Pre-Prohibition Style Lager" when I saw a single of this in the cooler of my local grocery. I didn’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised. The malt taste is simple but it’s clean and satisfying. This is also hoppier than your average lager. I have mixed feelings about saying that I liked something brewed by Coors, but that’s the truth. Once in a while, an industrial brewer can get it right.

Tap at First Niagara Center. Pours amber lots of head. Sweet toffee and plums dominate and cereal. Low earthy bitterness. Medium sweet and low bitter. Fullish body. Meh.

It wasn't much worse than the Kona lager I just had. People make sure to rate it lower for being a Coors product, but I'm okay with that. That's what happens when you make a shitty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A good every day beer. Nothing distinctive, yet nothing off-putting. A little expensive for an ordinary beer, I might go for Samuel Adams, but this beer is kind of refreshing. Not bad at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden yellow with a white foamy head. Aroma of not much. Taste is malty with hints of hop bitterness in the finish. Not quite there though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The color is great. This would have possibly been a great beer in the right hands.

Fin gyllen farge. Duft av malt. Lite skum. Smak av humle. Greit drikke øl på varme dager.
