Batch 19 is derived from a recipe found in an old logbook discovered in brewery archives dating back before 1919, when Prohibition banned beer throughout the country. Prohibition was enforced in Colorado in 1916. The pre-Prohibition style lager delivers a bold, hoppy flavor that is surprisingly well balanced. Test market in Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, San Jose, and Washington DC.

Clear amber color. Thin head. Little discernible aroma. Surprisingly smooth and descent tasting for Coors. Slightly hoppy. Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oh, it's Coors. Maybe good for a hot summer day. Slightly sweet and bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Coors. Pours clear gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like musky cereal malt, corn, and some citrus hops. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like cereal malt, musky corn, and faint citrus hops.

Bottle at United Club Dulles. Gold body with large head. Nose corn, cereal, sweet, dank. Taste again lager-like, with malts, corn and caramel. Medium bodied. Skunky finish. Coors...

I donít understand why this gets such high ratings. Must be the well-designed label, the pretty bottle and the Coors name. I for one am not a fan. Weak tasting, over-carbonated, with a very light body and very little palate. Very skippable, and certainly not worth $10.00 for a 6-er.

Marginal at best. This seemingly mix between a traditional marzen beer and a pilsner style lager leaves a sweet aftertaste but hits the palate strong at first.

Poured from bottle. Smells like malt and ocean. Not bad lookin Amber gold with white head. Getting some lager notes in flavor, along with sugar, grass and cereal. Syrupy aftertaste. Itís like a blend of three or more beers, and way too sweet for a lager.

12oz bottle pours a copper/orange with a very large off-white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, and stale citrus orange hops. Mildly sweet but slightly watery on top of malt with yeast and bland hops, light bitterness on finish. More going on then a lot of Coors but forgettable and bland.

August 22nd, 2013 - Is Coors Batch 19 a clumsy appeal to craft beer drinkers? Or something else? Iím going with "something else". While the color is a nice basset hound brown, the smell and taste give very little for the picky, internet crusading beer reviewer to go on. The aroma is generically sweet and nutty, like peanuts, but tainted with an off-putting urine smell. This face-wrenching note also appears in the aftertaste, after a sweeter gulp of the peanut flavored sugars and a very, very busy carbonation. This beer was left on the tasting room table for either a waiter or a drinker far more desperate for a sip than me.
