COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing Extra Gold Lager requires uncommon patience. Patience in the slow aging of the roasted malts. Patience to take the thtree extra brewing steps needed to craft every batch. This added time and effort yeilds an exceptional, refined lager.

Sample - 12 oz can. Ah yes, my first rating for my new screenname! And how fitting that it is not only my favorite mass produced sub-premium priced lager, but is also my namesake as well! This lesser known Coors product is probably its best. A quality lager all the way. Pours a beautiful dark golden color, much darker than any other beer in its class - almost tea colored. Not much of a head to speak of, and what little there is disipates quickly. White lacing lasts the entire glass. Goes down incredibly smooth, not stingy like other overcarbonated Am.Std's. A slight sweet taste, which is pleasant, but not overwhelming. No harsh or unpleasant aftertastes. Coors Extra Gold is definitely a must try, despite its price. I invite all to prove me wrong. Find me a better American Standard at this price - I dare you. It will always be in my fridge. Too bad it doesn't come in a smaller pack though - 30 packs limit its sales.

Not a bad beer for the price. Had a rich gold appearance and a frothy head and nice lacing but the bastard sized can won't fit in the fridge.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2006 Actually had some hop flavor and malt taste. Not as much flavor as I like but one of the most falvorful mass produced beers from BMC. I would drink this before a Bud, Miller or any of the lights. Actually the most flavorful beer from Miller was their special reserve that they made for several years. It was a very good beer but they quit making it.

This brew poured from a can formed a medium head of white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated straw yellow colored transparent body and a poor lace. The aroma was a nice mild malt hop one with none of the usual American Standard skunky odors. The mouthfeel is initially bubbly and smooth with a somewhat thick malty finish. THe flavoer is mostly slightly thick malts and very little hops.

Probably the best of Coors main beers...nice golden color, a bit more flavor than Coors banquet or Coors Light...Not bad for a macrobrew.

I like Coors Gold better than Banquet. Medium Golden color with a hint of hops. No malt to speak of until you get the first taste. Hops on the front end, although subtle. Thin body, and bubbles that faded too quickly. No real body to this beer, but the flavor is superior to Bud, Miller or Coors Banquet.

I like this more than Coors Original. Has a little more carbonation and some more flavor.

Better than Coors Original or Coors Light. Tiniest hints of malt, no hop prescense. Drying on the palate. When you have no other options, grab this instead of one of the other Coors. Watery. It's got just the right balance of wateryness to fizziness to be chugged. Relatively inoffensive.
