Clear and deep yellow with many rising bubbles. Thinnish head just wouldn't die completely; it kept a thin coating on top of the beer all the way down. Mouthfeel surprised me up front -- almost creamy, but turned watery and fizzy toward the finish. Malts were slightly grainy, corny and slightly sweet. Some hop bitterness poked through into the aftertaste. Surprisingly, not repulsive, but not great. Still, much better than many other macros (and other Coors products) I can think of.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2003 I don't understand why this "Gold" version of Coor's is cheaper than both Coors Light and Coors Regular. It's better than both of them but hard to find (at least in northern VA). It has a nice color and no aftertaste. Olympia had a "Gold" version too but I could not tell the difference between their Gold and the regular. There is a definite difference between Coors and Coors Extra Gold. Last time I got my hands on a case, they had changed the can.

I've had worse - and that's the most charitable thing I really can say about this gnat's pee.
If "It takes time to produce the flavor of the rich lagers of the past. The traditional, old world lager recipes allow no shortcuts." then it's a shame that Coors seem to have neglected the advice given in their advertising blurb

If it were the last beer on Earth I would drink it, but thank god it's not. If you want to stand out and be different, drink this beer. If not, don't waste your time, drink something else.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear
dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain). Flavor is moderately sweet,
lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky,
slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy
carbonation. Exceptionally grainy/husky, but still better than being
flavorless I suppose.

I recieved this "gift" from my father today. Now let me say that I am not a laywer, but, this may classify, and hold up in court, as child abuse. It pours from the "can" a weak light yellow in color. Similar to 1 part urine 5 parts toilet water, (no tidy bowl). It has a great big foamy head, it reminds me of something from my childhood?, ah, yes, Mister Bubble Bath Foam! The aroma is quite nice, half way between a flannel shirt that has not been washed in 3-6 months and wet sand. Well now, the taste, how to best describe this cornicopia of crap, (sorry did I say that out loud). The flavor is best described as 5,000 gallon of old rain water, mixed in a blender with a moldy soft pretzel, and an old wet hunting magazine. The finish is the best part, that is when you are finnished, you realize that you will never have to drink this beer again.

This was my very first beer. Since then, I've discovered there are many other beers out there that are much better.
