COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing Extra Gold Lager requires uncommon patience. Patience in the slow aging of the roasted malts. Patience to take the thtree extra brewing steps needed to craft every batch. This added time and effort yeilds an exceptional, refined lager.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2006 Used to call this Coors Extra Hangover. Price helps the flavor - good for a camping trip or a day at the racetrack - otherwise unremarkable. Slightly more flavor than regular Coors

Has a light golden color. Smell is mild, some grains. Taste is also mild, some corn and grains, not paticularly pleasant. Overall a beer best avoided.

this tastes exactly like coors only a little bit shittier. it has that coors breadiness flavour, but with more ’character’ (or is that bullshit?). there really isn’t anything wrong with this beer, but that doesn’t mean that there’s everything awesome about it either. it’s okay for drinking a lot of. but if extra gold is to coors as busch is to budweiser, then busch is WAAYYYY motherfucking better. no real reason to buy this unless it’s a sweet deal on a DIRTY THIRTY.

From the can at GABF. For shits and giggles. Pours extra gold with some head. Nose is sweet and grainy. Really seems akin to a malt liquor. Sweet on the palate and not really pleasant. Scroll past.

This is not a good beer. It’s smells sweet. Pours deep golden lager yellow. Tastes very bitter. Leaves an awful after taste. I expected more from coors. .... Maybe I had a bad batch

So I have a sweet spot for Extra gold. It’s no longer available in the UK and indeed isn’t available in Taiwan ( where I now reside) . But I really used to enjoy a pint of this. Grain and corn are very apparent and it’s nice and sweet. Great summer beer.

Can given to me by a friend who swears it’s the best macro lager available. And while we both realize that’s not saying much, I can’t help but be intrigued. Clear gold pour with a huge off-white head. Nose of grainy malt, lager yeast and crisp hops. Sweet and grainy malt flavor with crisp hops in the finish. Not knocking my socks off and certainly not my style, but definitely better than others of the style.

Tastes similar to Old Style, it has a decent roasted malt/husky flavor to it. Not bad for a macro.

Review from notes, sampled 12/14/2007 My friends dad drinks this, so occasionally I’ll end up having one or two with him. It’s not bad for a macro lager, certainly more body in this one than some of the others. Pours a golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of noble hops some clean malts and a bit of skunk. Taste is macro mouthfeel is thin and watery. I have trouble with these, because they are so light I can finish them rather quickly and they can catch up to me. Not bad, not great, but not bad.
