COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Banquet Beer was born in the Rockies and has been a proud part of the American experience for generations, stubbornly refusing to compromise, since 1873.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2010 A very poor beer. Don’t let the "100% Rocky Mountain spring water" and "cold as the Rockies" promises fool you.

12 oz bottle, sampled 4/24/08. Golden yellow colour with a fully diminishing fizzy white head. Grainy, corn, and faint grassy aroma. Grainy, corny, and light fusel flavours. Light to medium bodied, fizzy mouthfeel. Mostly blah with hints of extremely unpleasant.

A very bland taste with no body. Made to be as un-bread/cereal tasting as possible. Watered down. Mild "off" flavor, but no outstanding bad flavors, just a general thereof.

Huh. I have always remembered Coors being more flavourful than Bud and held it above the other big names. Havent had it in years and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. Bouquet is fairly tight but there is a hint of pineapple. Im getting the "beurre noisette" that I get from some of my favourite Pale Lagers. Mid palate seems to completely disappear although it opens up in the back with faint banana. This is pretty crazy. I must say I am liking this beer much more than I remember. I think this would go good with curry.

I’m old enough to remember when you couldn’t get this east of the Mississippi. The reason you couldn’t get it east of the Mississippi is because the federal government and all the states east of the Mississippi were trying to protect people from this. Looks, smells, and tastes like the average macro (Bud, Miller, etc.) but has an extra bonus: a weird moldy taste that all Coors products have. Has something to do with the strain of yeast they use. Probably the worst of the macros!!!

Generic, unimaginative pale lager. Why anyone would drink this is beyond me.

Bottle. Clear yellow with a white head. Light aroma with a touch of adjunct. The flavor has grainy malt, straw and adjuncts. Not awful.
