The Banquet Beer was born in the Rockies and has been a proud part of the American experience for generations, stubbornly refusing to compromise, since 1873.

Can sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Clear yellow. Aroma of graininess, apple, paper, a bit of corn. Flavor is quite bland with a bit of apple, paper, faint bitterness. Light-bodied. Weak and bland, but not too offensive.

At a tasting, thanks, no head, clear piss yellow, very light fruity malty aroma, almost unnoticable, light dry fruit, vanila, Vinous flavor, extremely bland but clean. Not interesting in the extreme.

Originally rated on 6/25/08. Well its better than bud, or miller so.. It looks nice, a good looking golden body with a decent looking head. Aroma and taste of sweet corn, grain and malts. A bit on the watery side but the price is reasonable.

This is a solid choice if you want classic American beer. This has the classic smell of beer, like at a ball game beer. It is very smooth, refreshing and enjoyable. There is nothing unpleasant about it. Judge it against it’s peers (Budweiser, MGD, PBR etc.) and you may find you like it best. It’s not a craft beer, but it’s a good one.

Golden with white head, not a very strong aroma of hops. Taste has hops with a hint of lemon. Light body with medium carbonation. Nothing special.

Drank straight from the stubby bottle. Like Coors light but with more flavor

Rating based on a draft beer I had in Golden, CO, within eyesight of the brewery, in hopes it would be special. The beer had a fairly thick gold color with a modest foamy white head with average to light retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma was a mix of grainy hops along with some cereal, barley, adjuncts, and a sour effect. The taste was somewhat bitter and grainy, but also had a slightly sour barley-grainy mix that was a touch skunked. The beer was fairly wet with low to average carbonation and a heavy swallow and mouthfeel effect.

It’s always amazing when I find another macro lager somewhere - and with a morbid sense of curiousity I just had to buy some. After all, what’s the worst that could happen? Pours with an okay foamy head and nice golden body with minimal carbonation. Very faint sweet cardboard aroma. Flavour is metal and grain with just a hint of honey. Wet on the mouth. Alas, but perhaps unexpectedly, this is not good stuff.
