The Banquet Beer was born in the Rockies and has been a proud part of the American experience for generations, stubbornly refusing to compromise, since 1873.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2009 Typical macro. Light yellow straw color with no head. Pretty ok grain flavor amidst the water. Just a very average/typical macro. Nothing great. Would only buy it if there was nothing else to buy.

You really have to try to find the aroma, it’s not too obvious. It’s so clear you could read a book through it, which is a selling feature when you want to drink the whole case, but if your just having one or two. The flavour is acutally kind of ok, I expect it to taste really cheap or grassy, but it is smooth and ... crisp? The flavour isn’t too strong in any dimention but it is also short-lived. There is virtually no palate, don’t wan’t a funny aftertase if you’re getting wasted in the sun! Too bad we can’t acutally buy this in Canada, my buddies parents brought us some from the states. It would make a great camping beer.

Looks like any pale commercial lager. Clear and yellow. Sweet skunky aroma, not much going on. . Flavour of corn and cardboard. mouth feel is Smooth and crisp. Not bad for what it is. I would drink it over most canadian pale lager.

Can. Best of the MillerBudCoors trifecta. Actually quite drinkable. Not muchy aroma or falvor but just a touch of hops and grains that makes it somewhat decent.

[Look]: Pale straw color with a decent head. [Smell]: Not much aroma, maybe hint of grainy and corn. [Taste]: Grainy, hint of cooked cabbage and corn (in a good way), very mild bitterness. Very light bodied. [Overall]: One of the better macro lager I had. It’s whole lots better than Bud and Miller’s.

One of the better american cheap pale lagers. A decent amount of flavor, though not that great, just a good drinkability.

Tried and true favorite. Usually the cheap beer option at several establishments I frequent.

Drinking one of these makes you realize how far the craft beer industry has advanced in recent years. From a 12 oz bottle this poured a clear pale yellow with a small fizzy white head and virtually no lacing. Nose is mostly corn and grain. Mouthfeel is watery and the flavor is just the same as the nose - corn and grain. The finish is metallic. Ranks low among the macros This beer is for some reason popular at picnics. Must be the advertising hype.
