Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 2, 2006 well i have to admit it is not as bad as i thought it would be, but it is still bad. It’s in the catogory of budwieser. At least this was kinda drinkable. Quiver (139), Augusta, Georgia, USA Jan 28, 2006 Typical American lager... light, high carbonation... pale barley, little taste.... a slight bit better tan coors light... barleyologist (16), ECV, California, USA Jan 23, 2006 Light less flavorful funny tasting version of bottled water, which over the years has used fewer ingredients to make their brew the Coors Brewing Co. also cold filters there beer. The advertising makes this sound like it’s a good thing…… it’s not. Beer naturally becomes clearer with extended storage which allows proteins and other particles to coagulate and settle out of suspension. To speed up natures natural brewing process Coors decided to Cold Filters their beer. During this process the beer is chilled causing these molecules to "clump" and be easily filtered out. Water surrounds the unwanted partials to make the clump so they again add water to replace their lost volume. This is an attempt to clarify the beer with a side effect of the lagering (fermenting) time being shortened. The lagering time is when the beer takes on its distinct flavor. The up-side to doing all this is that the time from brewing to finished product is shortened, thereby boosting productivity which is all that Coors is after.....Money. The down-side is that cold-filtering also removes these molecules which contribute flavor and body to beer. oney, and last to define their unique flavor they add water one more time. I ask the question: “Is this still beer?”
IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Jan 21, 2006 Poured a very pale gold with a small off-white head. These styles of beer are usually compared aesthetically to urine specimens, but this one was more like the specimen of someone who drank a lot of water. Nose is very faint corn and citrus. Flavor is dominated by corn, a twist of lime, and a dry toffee finish. Very little, if any, discernible beer flavor. Body was watery and overcarbonated. Nothing to this one, and barely qualifies as beer. yomamaphat (19), USA Jan 19, 2006 If any beer says American standard Beer to me this is it. Color is quite pleasant. It has a rich but uninteresting aroma, of course this isn’t always undesirable. Flavor is crisp and flavourful, best when on ice in a bottle on a hot summer day. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Jan 18, 2006 A below average beer with fancy packaging. No wonder they push Coors Light with their advertising. kfarrnd (112), Oldsmar, Florida, USA Jan 14, 2006 Bottle. Poured a light gold and had a sudsy head. The aroma is your typical corn with maybe a touch of malt. Taste is richer than your average American lager. Watery on the palate but not seltzer-like with the light beers. A decent macro if you have to choose between others like it. beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Jan 9, 2006 Updated: Dec 30, 200612. oz. can. Pours a light gold with a fizzy white head. No aroma to speak of. Sort of sweet tasting. Not the cereal taste you get with some of the other macros. I remember 30 years ago when this was the holy grail for us back east where Coors wasn’t available. I wonder if the formula has changed since then or if it was just the novelty.
