COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Banquet Beer was born in the Rockies and has been a proud part of the American experience for generations, stubbornly refusing to compromise, since 1873.

Light aroma, watery, light bodied, bland, very pale yellow. Not very good.

Coors has a thick, white head and a very clear yellow appearance, with lots of carbonation. The aroma is minimal, but maybe one can pick up a "beer" smell. Taste is a delicious balance of barley malt, rice, and hops, none of which predominate. Mouth-feel is light and watery, and Coors finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing. Overall, I really enjoy this beer and highly recommend giving this American classic a try. RJT

It always made me mad that you can’t get this in Canada anymore (well at least Ontario). I always had a bit of a soft spot for the banquet beer.

You know what? This aint terrible. Got a can from a mate after rugby practice. Typical clear yellow with bubbly white head, with little to no aroma. Flavor starts with watered down caramel, fades fast into a semi sweet nothingness. Lacks body, but the flavor itself aint bad. Tingly soda like carbonation compensates nicely the lack of body. Potentially the best of the American macros.

Better than Bud, but not as good as Miller. If you’re looking for a pale lager to drink on a hot summer day, you could do worse than the banquet beer.

12oz cans/24oz cans/tap at the brewery. I have mixed feelings on this one. I know it’s supposed to be a crappy, pale lager. However, for some reason, I kinda like it. I like the fact that Coors used to be the "little" guy in the American pale lager wars. And, we’ve enjoyed our visits to the brewery in Golden. When sampled on tap, at the tasting room, at the brewery it was pretty good. My "favorite" American industrial pale.
