The Banquet Beer was born in the Rockies and has been a proud part of the American experience for generations, stubbornly refusing to compromise, since 1873.

For some reason, this was sought after when I was growing up in New York, maybe because it was hard to get east of the Rockies. Not that it is as command as the rhinovirus, there is no need to look for it any more.

Fine beer, not the best by far. Nice thick taste. Better than a light. It’ll buzz ya’ real nice. One of my choice cases for a get together. All in all, nice. Watch how many you down, drink responsibly! I know I didn’t the first go through. Nice drunk also. I really like some coors anyway. It’s a go getter, in my opinion. Cheap enough.

Pale golden color out of the bottle with a short lived white head that fizzed away to nothing. Corny nose with some acetate notes. Sweet beer with corn and white sugar notes and a hint of toasted grains. Tastes like beer. Actually it went just fine with my bbq burger. Still not a great beer by any stretch.

EtTuCthulhu (393) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - APR 30, 2013
The aroma of this brew is reminiscent of typical American pale lager scent of sweet bread malts and yeast, but its subtle nature makes this aroma more pleasant than what you typically find on the market; however, the appearance was the extremely unoriginal clear, golden, and bubbly liquid with a medium white head that fades quickly. Once sipped, the mildly sour yet slightly sweet taste becomes apparent, and the average carbonation, thin texture, medium body, and abrupt finish combine for a drinkable and not horrible beer.

Commemorative can. Slightly sweet sour malt aroma. Pale gold with a large white head. Sweet barley malt flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation. Of most of the macro lagers I’ve tried, this would be one of the easier ones to drink if it was handed to me.

Can. Pours a pale yellow color with a white head. Has a fruity grainy corny cardboard aroma. Sweetish malty grainy flavor. Has a sweetish malty grainy corny finish.

16oz aluminum bottle. Pours a clear gold/straw with a soda-like head that’s gone in an instant with no lacing. Aroma is like a ballpark minus the hot dogs and nacho cheez. Taste is... ugh. Corn, water, skunky hops, and stale malts. Palate is refreshing-ish, but too darn carbonated and fizzy. I guess I am glad that I only paid a dollar for it, but I would feel that I got a better deal if I only paid 50 cents. This stuff is pretty bad.

Can. Yellow pour with quickly diminishing head. Smells like malt. One of the better macro brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
