COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coors Brewing Company celebrates the holidays with Winterfest - the nation's longest-running seasonal brew. Brewed once a year, in celebration of the season, Winterfest is a handcrafted brew that has earned Coors much recognition. Prior to its broader availability, Winterfest was enjoyed almost exclusively by the Coors family, company employees, and their friends. In 1986, Coors expanded the tradition of Winterfest to include the entire state of Colorado. The response was so enthusiastic that, every year since, Coors has offered the special winter brew in limited quantities and packages. Winterfest is available on draught and in six-pack longneck bottles, from early November through January, depending on how long supplies last. Winterfest is the perfect beer to toast a new season or a new year. 190 calories per 12-ounce serving and 5.6% alcohol by volume.

Ouch this was hideous. Very crisp initially, but warms into this overly sweet malty honey flavor that is repuslive on the palate. I guess it is really not that bad when it is cold, but then I could say that about most macros. Just a hint of spice and hops, and I guess I am not disappointed because I did not have high hopes walking into this one.

Very nice taste for a winterbeer. Was very smooth and little or no after taste.

12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour with a nice creamy off-white head. Excellent retention, especially for a BMC product. Grainy malt aroma with some sweet caramel malt. Sweet caramel malt flavor with a mild and subtle spice presence. Aftertaste becomes a little grainy with some corn flavor. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, thins a little on the finish. Fairly decent for BMC. Certainly the best head I’ve ever seen on a Coors product.

Pours dark crimson with a thin wispy tan head. Mild aroma of medicinal phenols and toffee. Taste is grainy and astringent, phenolic and just plain nasty. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Drain pour, very bad.

This one came courtesy of thedm and hotsuff. Amber body with almost a hint of honey gold to it. Off white head and a little bit of lacing. Aroma was a mix of caramel and sugary malts. The taste was a bit bitter, with some malts and a bit of sweetness too.

muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JAN 20, 2006
12 oz bottle purchased at City Market in Burlington, VT (Jan 2006), drunk at a bit above fridge temperature from a 12 oz Michelob glass. Frothy, large-bubbled head actually leaves visible residue as it decays slowly above the dark, very clear amber body....light grainy nose offers just a hint of caramel and smoke, quite weak....body lightly sweet at first, touch of dry herbs, faint malty but quickly turning very thin, attenuated to the point of nothingness at the finish, no sugar or body and no aftertaste whatsoever...if there’s anything, it’s a sort of artificial caramel-saccharine character that is rather unpleasant though not horrific. Good for this brewer I guess, but not much above a drain pour.

this is from coors? that what i found myself saying. pours translucent amber in color with a medium sized off-white head, aroma of sweet malts, flavor is malty, ok body, nothing great but probably the best coors beer ever.

At first I thought, "No. Really?" So in a mix six packer I thought I’d throw it in. And it belongs somewhere in a crappy mixed six packer. Cola color. Fizzy. Vague malt flavors. Rye bread taste. Sort of like burnt toast. Considering their "Light" beer is terrible, this is quite a step up for the organization. However, it still lacks any punch or flavor. It’s a toss away.
