COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coors Brewing Company celebrates the holidays with Winterfest - the nation's longest-running seasonal brew. Brewed once a year, in celebration of the season, Winterfest is a handcrafted brew that has earned Coors much recognition. Prior to its broader availability, Winterfest was enjoyed almost exclusively by the Coors family, company employees, and their friends. In 1986, Coors expanded the tradition of Winterfest to include the entire state of Colorado. The response was so enthusiastic that, every year since, Coors has offered the special winter brew in limited quantities and packages. Winterfest is available on draught and in six-pack longneck bottles, from early November through January, depending on how long supplies last. Winterfest is the perfect beer to toast a new season or a new year. 190 calories per 12-ounce serving and 5.6% alcohol by volume.

Amber color. Poor aroma. The flavor is ok, with just a lot of caramel, and correct bitterness. Easy.

(Bottle) Pours a clear deep amber with small white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, and mild hops. Flavor of caramel malt and mild hops.

This is unique. Perhaps a diminished version of Anchor Christmas Ale (just kidding). A tad much malt, but the hop balance works. This is really an ale (from Coors!), and it’s tasty. Something of a burnt brown aspect. Perhaps the acquisition of Bass has had a good effect? I will drink more, and it’s likely the only Coors I will cheerfully drink. Kudos. Bravo. Well done chaps.

Bottle... Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is loaded with caramel and toasty notes. The flavor is all caramel and unfermentable sugar. A malt-bomb for sure, but in a bad way. Cloyingly sweet. At only 5.6% abv, I can only assume they forgot to throw any hops into the boil. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Crisp, caramelly-sweet finish. I’m a total malt head, but this is way too sweet.

Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Poured a dark copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Light malt and hop aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Light bittersweet flavor with an smooth finish of short duration.

Reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel and cinnamon, lightly maderized. In mouth, a nutty roasted malt, with definite oxidation, but still quite decent hopping. A nice offering from one of the swill giants. Bought at CJs, Potsdam, NY, Feb. 2006. BB Jan 24 2006.

Nice brown Belgian appearance, head and malty aroma. Hoppy initially, dry and nicely malted but very drinkable after that, spice in finish. Not complex but pleasantly surprisingly solid beer by the macro. Full carbonation leading to medium mouthfeel. Dry but spice and sweetness in aftertaste.

Pours amber with a creamy off white to pinkish head. Smells sugary with some hints of yogurt thrown in. Taste is slightly sweet with some pretty nice rosey notes shining through. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, but for a product from Coors is surprisingly present. This one felt like a throwback to the days when I considered beers like Ice house a treat. Not bad.
