Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Jun 21, 2005 tap at brewpub-this beer poured dark brown with a fizzy beige head. some roast, char and mocha aromas that were match one for one on the flavors. this beer is pretty heavy on the roast and not enough on the chocolate. pretty one dimensional, but not bad. body is fluffy and has a good mouthfeal. actually, this beer scored a little better than the red, but i liked the red better. FlacoAlto (2142), Tucson, Arizona, USA Jun 17, 2005 This beer is a clear brown-amber color and it is topped by a thin wispy light brown head. Again the aroma is quite muted here. Finally though I have found a little bit of flavor in one of these beers. There are some good notes of chocolate to this porter. This beer is light on the palate, thought this is the thickest beer that I have had from this brewery. There is a soft sweetness that accompanies the dominant chocolate note. There is some soft fruitiness here as well, I get notes of currants, raisin, caramel and some toasted malt notes. There is a bit of bitterness in the finish, which seems to be a combination of hops and dark malt. turbo (1248), Arizona, USA Jun 7, 2005 Black with a decent head.
Roasyy malt and coffee aroma and rich roasty flavor.
A bit to thin but worth a full glass. Bockyhorsey (2033), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 4, 2005 This was actually the first one that got my attention on the sampler plater. Had the sweet malty aroma of a porter. Dark body. Rich malty sweet flavor. Not to bad of beer. Worth a full glass sometime. JoeM500 (1877), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2003 A nice, robust porter bursting at the seams with roasty flavors and aromas. Coffee, toffee, some grassy hops at the end. It warmed to become vinous.
