COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong, medium-bodied IPA is a "first-running" from our Cream Ale. An exclusive use of centennial hops packs this IPA with a serious slap of hop character. It has a wonderful, warming finish.

Orange with nice lacy light tan head. Huge piney and grapefruit aromas. Sweet caramel, malt, citrus, and alcohol in flavor. Fairly good double IPA.

2005 GCBC. Cloudy orange pour with a pretty decent sized head. Huge grapefruit rindy and pine hop aromas, and a decent backbone of sweet caramel malt. More cirtus and piney hoppy goodness in flavor, with a decent backing of sweet caramel malt. Fairly big bitter bite to finish. Alcohol was a little too upfront, but other than that, a very good iipa.

On tap at the 2005 GCBC: Pours a hazy copper bronze with a thick, long-lasting and well-lacing off-white head. Very fresh piney and grapefruity hoppy aroma has some sweet caramel malty balance. Fresh real hoppy body has a nice sweet caramel toffee presence toward a big, bitter, and lightly warming finish. A very nice double IPA. I sure wish Copper Creek were closer to Atlanta or that they would bottle their beers.

05 GCBC. Hazy copper color with a medium sized off-white head. Huge hoppy citrus and sweet orange aroma. Hoppy citrus and pine flavors running through the the whole flavor length with some caramel on the tail and a nice bitter finish. This beer should have taken best in show. Like their barley wine should have last year

I originally thought this was just the Double IPA I had from Copper Creek in the winter, but nope, it comes from a different base beer even. The hops are aggressive and perhaps a little on the harsh side. There’s a definite alcohol aspect to the aroma, but the bite is covered up by the tingling hops and malt in the flavor. There were some unusual parts to the aroma that I couldn’t place at the time, but the fact this came off the first running of a cream ale kind of explains it. I think the Double IPA was probably the better of the two beers.
