BeerloverEJ21 (131), Georgia, USA Dec 3, 2007 Got this at Copper Creek the other night on tap. Delicious. Poured black with no head. Aroma of coffee and burnt malt. Flavor is outstanding: coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, carmel. Overall, a very fine seasonal. fro2218 (465), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 1, 2007 Fairly black in color. Caramel and light smokey aroma. The caramel, chocolate, and smoke all comeo out in the medium body. Wonderful brew. savitska (163), Smyrna, Georgia, USA Oct 16, 2006 Wow! Just, WOW!
A killer beer with the kind of sweet, malty goodness you get in a porter and some of the chocolaty flavor of a stout without the dryness.
The smoked aroma and flavor make this one of the best "mouthfeel" beers I’ve ever had.
Kudos! 21iceman40 (1669), north little rock, Arkansas, USA Dec 12, 2005 The color of this finely crafted beer was brown. I concur, there was some carmel present in the aroma and definetely in the body. What was better than the beer though, was listening to the dirty old hippy talk about crazed conspiracy theories involving sacraficing humans in order to become president. LilKem (1169), Marietta, Ohio, USA Dec 11, 2005 This was a very nice beer to warm up to. After searching all of athens for this place, (haha), we finally found it and this was the obvious first choice. The menu at the brewery said carmel smoked porter, but i assume this is one and the same. The carmel flavor and aroma was nice and thick. There were awesome smoked and roasted malts. I thought it was balanced well. None of the acidity or astringency you can get with smoked porters. The roasted malts and carmel flavors really rounded this one out. Very fine brew indeed.
