COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As our brewmaster dreams of the sun going down over the Pacific, this medium bodied, malty Red Ale was his first brew at the General. Caramel and toffee flavors blend with imported English hops in this extra smooth ale. Consistently one of our top sellers, the brewer spends a lot less time dreaming of sunsets and more time trying to keep this beer flowing!

Hazy ice tea red color. Aroma was of caramel and light roasted malt. The taste was the same with light bitter finish. Pretty good.

On cask. Smells of faint malts and mild berries. Taste very mild, sweet and toffeeish. Like countless other ambers nationwide but for the subtle berry/pear notes.

Pours a very cloudy amber. Flavor is evenly balanced. Nice level of malts with almost a caramel covered apple tone to the flavor. Feel has a full carbonation and a good liquid bodt as well. This is very easy to drink and I could easily have gone for more.

Pours a hazy red. Smell of sweet malt but tastes more on the sour side. Not bad but I think the lines might have been funky.

You can tell from the other ratings that this beer is quite distinct and flavorful and sets itself apart quite well. :P Its true, the beer is quite bland and hard to describe as a result. Served on cask. Lightly bitter with lasting head. Slighty, yeast-filled finish. Fairly mild, somewhat bland. Nothing offensive but I'd get someething else from GL if I went again.

Growler: Poured a dark hazy amber color with a medium head. The aroma was nice with hint of caramel malts. The flavor was mally and sweet with a nice balance and finish. Overall I was please, as this was one you could drink a few and not get tired.

Deep amber color with strong red hues. Average size white head. Mainly malty and caramel aroma with a hint of hops! (shocking for the GLI!) Flavor adds a little spicyness. Dry palate.
