COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As our brewmaster dreams of the sun going down over the Pacific, this medium bodied, malty Red Ale was his first brew at the General. Caramel and toffee flavors blend with imported English hops in this extra smooth ale. Consistently one of our top sellers, the brewer spends a lot less time dreaming of sunsets and more time trying to keep this beer flowing!

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2004 I loved this beer. The aroma it gives off is one almost of a fine wine. It pours a beautiful dark amber red with a minimal light tan head. On the palate I found this beer to be smooth, laced with a fine caramel and spicy enough to make me want more and more. A great beer that would be good for any special occasion.

Draft. Poured a nice deep amber red body with thin head. Aroma is sweet caramel, hops. Flavor is a light sweet malty body, caramel and light lemony citrus. This was a great sipper and a very smooth body to it. One of the best Amber’s I have ever had.

On cask at the brewery. Light bready-yeasty aroma, with mild wood-rot or mushroom earthiness. Mild hop character and some roasted grain. Raw buckwheat honey tang. Cloudy dark amber-copper with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium silky body with smooth carbonation. Starts with light woody esters, mild brown sugar and alcohol-ester vapors. Mild floral hop bitterness. Smooth and tasty, this is a really nice presentation of a red ale. Smoooooth.

Red, white creamy head. Soft nose of florals, chocolate, citrus, and toffee. Flavor is similar, slightly roasty, with more floral, caramel toffee balance. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light bittersweet finish. Well made….

Warm red-amber body with a nice, uniform, cream-colored head. Pleasant malt aroma with notes of fruit, toffee, spice, and toast. Deep, earthy malt flavors with subtle roast late and some wood stem hop qualities and firm bitterness. Nice palatable texture. A very solid, stylish red ale in my book.

KSBF 2006. Pours a hazy copper amber with a small creamy off white head. Aroma of fresh citrus, hops, lightly fruity and caramel malts. Flavors of the same with more yeast than I expected.

Hazy ice tea red color. Aroma was of caramel and light roasted malt. The taste was the same with light bitter finish. Pretty good.

Pours a very cloudy amber. Flavor is evenly balanced. Nice level of malts with almost a caramel covered apple tone to the flavor. Feel has a full carbonation and a good liquid bodt as well. This is very easy to drink and I could easily have gone for more.
