August 21, 2013 - hand-pull cask at The Old Bell. Utterly beautiful clear bright ruby pour with a lasting cap of tan creamy head - gorgeous. Aroma and taste are very simple - more a light bitter than what I think of as a mild - floral, lightly sweet, utterly devoid of alcohol presence. Light body, slightly chewy/grainy, very mild carbonation and a medium-short floral somewhat bitter finish. Very quaffable. I’m getting another one, to hell with the pub crawl!!!

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep brown with a deep amber glare and a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, toffee malty and caramelish. Bitter, toffee and breadish into the finish.

I had this beer a long time ago. There’s very little I remember about the flavour and nose, the appearance and palate. All I know is that it was quite pleasant taste. Little left on the memory. After all it must have been already 2 to 3 hours ago.

Cask @ The Haymarket, Edinburgh [270713]
Dark ruby, clear dense thin head, good lacing
Aroma of soft sweet caramel, light nose, dull
Taste of soft sweet caramel, some blackcurrant, touch of roasted malt, ok but a bit dull
Palate - Light to medium body, bit oily. Finish of hedgerow fruits, touch of bitter roast, hint of chocolate
Overall - It’s more a Ruby Gold, not bad tbh, but very average
