Pours very dark brown, black with a thin, of white/tan head which is moderately lived and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is sour milk, toffee, coffee, caramel and treasured malt. Flavor is sweet but very mild with a slight acrid aftertaste.

August 21, 2013 - hand-pull cask at The Old Bell. Utterly beautiful clear bright ruby pour with a lasting cap of tan creamy head - gorgeous. Aroma and taste are very simple - more a light bitter than what I think of as a mild - floral, lightly sweet, utterly devoid of alcohol presence. Light body, slightly chewy/grainy, very mild carbonation and a medium-short floral somewhat bitter finish. Very quaffable. Iím getting another one, to hell with the pub crawl!!!

I had this beer a long time ago. Thereís very little I remember about the flavour and nose, the appearance and palate. All I know is that it was quite pleasant taste. Little left on the memory. After all it must have been already 2 to 3 hours ago.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
This half Mild, half Brown Bitter shares earthy hops, caramel malts and leafy bitterness, a balanced profile softly brushed by roasted malts.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the misty ruby.
-The leafy finish is long lasting.
-This may not be memorable, but it is a valiant pint to session with.
-The aroma doesnít reveal much of what is to come.
-The mouthfeel is round for a 3.7% brew.
On cask at The Eagle and Child, Oxford.
