Straight from the Cask at the Chesterfield Beer Festival on 04/02/05. Clear lager-ish yellow colour. Very bitter taste & quite dry. Fresh country tones in there. A good silod bitter.

500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Vague aroma of citric fruit. Flavor is light malty with fruit and low bitterness. Thin body and an aftertaste with a more pronounced dry kind of bitterness. Thirst-quencher.

Cask at The Golden Fleece in York. Pours hazy gold with a creamy off-white head. Floral aroma. Med minus body. Grassy, floral, citrus bitter. Malt very light. Very nice bitter finish. Great to drink.

Cask @ The Head Of Steam. Kicking off my Yorkshire adventure in style! (sort of). The pour’s light gold with a tight white head. The aroma’s sweet angel food cake, cookie dough. General bready sweetness. The taste is grape jelly candies, pie crust. Little else, really. Light body, soft carbonation. Overall, a decent golden ale. Basic stuff.

Cask @ Queen Victoria, Gosforth [010313]
Very light golden straw, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - hint of lemon citrus but almost nothing
Taste of light pale malts, light soft citrus, touch of lemon, light fruits
Palate - Light body, bit of oiliness, quite smooth, soft tang on palate. Finish is smooth with soft lemon
Overall - Very simple beer, clean, soft, easy, not engaging, no faults

(Bottled) It’s a golden, clear pint with a floral aroma. The flavour is light and of fruit but is quite sharp none the less.

4.2% pale yellow with a thin head, fruity aroma, taste is also fruity with a nice liquorish aftertaste, unusual for a light coloured beer, very nice.

500ml bottle. Light yellow golden colour, bubbly white head with malt type aroma. Fizzy dry bitterness on the tongue with malt, some residual sweetness and caramel, biscuit notes. The bitterness lingers alittle, quite light bodied, OK.

This has become my regular tipple at Old Brodleians Rugby Club. A smooth pale golden pint with a lovely taste that’s more sweet than bitter.

500ml bottle served cold in a shaker. Bottle says 4.2% abv, I’ve had this on draught at 3.9%. Pale yellow, negligible white head. Toasty herbal aroma. Nice hop bitterness balanced by bubblegum and custard cream flavours. Light bodied, creamy texture, bitter finish. Lovely summery beer for wasting a hot afternoon with.
