Tap. Pours clear dark orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is dank, earthy, and citrus hops with biscuit malt. Flavor is heavy hops and medium bitterness with fruity esters, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap @ Copper Kettle. Pours a bit hazy reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Kind of smells like an English Pale, strangely enough. Chewy ale yeasty, tangerine citrusy, somewhat herbal aroma. Earthy, herbal hoppy, a touch buttery, light caramel, toasty malty flavor. Kind of interesting.

Tap at CK - medium amber with a thick, sticky lace - nose is of pungent pine and citrus, some earthy character, grass - flavor is dry and Biscuity up front, with moderate citrus peel - gets some sweeter notes of caramel through the middle, but dries out again on the tail end, bringing copious earthy pine, peppery spice and bitterness - dry, biscuit finish - probably the best hoppy beer this brewer has made.

Hazy bronze/copper with a laceful foamy white head. Fresh hoppy aroma of leafy wet hops, grapefruit zest, a slight piney resin tone, and caramalty sweetness. Flavor was big on bitterness but not in a too-sharp way like west coast IPAs. Lots of piney and floral and grapefruit-peel bitterness and flavor with a mild caramel backbone and subtle earthy blonde graininess. Lasting bitterness throughout. A little much, but not shabby.

On Tap at Denver Winter Brew Fest ’13. Pour is clear orange with a small off-white head and decent lacing. Citrus, grapefruit, light grass, a touch of pine, lemon peel, and bread in the aroma. Taste is grapefruit peel, orange, grass, caramel, a touch of biscuit and pine on the backend with a medium bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Decent IPA.
