Pint draft at the brewery tasting room in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a hazed darker copper brown with a 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is faint, what is present is caramel with light roast and a bit of mineral. The taste is the nose, nice balance of softly sweet caramel, touch of roast, and clean dry finish of mineral. The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation and the clean finish. Nice enough.

Pint at the brewery. Pours a deep red/brown. Aroma is light, malty with hints at tree bark, mildly fruity notes, cacao and tobacco. Palate is light, as to be expected. The flavor is malty with tame roast, earthy notes, a subtle woody spiciness and a hint of baking chocolate. I expect the style to be quite light, but this one is on the edge. Pretty tasty still and clean and balanced like most CK beers.

arminjewell (9262) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 5, 2013
Pour on tap at the brewery, brownish pour with thin yellow head, aroma brought notes of roast, nuts, hints of caramel, toffee, slight spice, hints of dark malts, and some roast, dark cocoa. Taste is a mix of dark cocoa, hints of caramel, toffee, slight roast, coffee, hints of spice, finishing fairly bitter, dry. Nice.

Listed as 3.9 abv - hazy reddish copper - nose of leafy, tobacco notes, molasses, nutty qualities - flavor has a little maple sweetness up front, but is mostly dry throughout - flavors of hazelnut, tobacco leaves, light mineral - a dry, earthy, almost smoky note from the malt - roasty finish - nicely done.

Hazy copper with a nutty aroma of sweet earthiness and unroasted chestnuts. Flavor is mild and sweet with some earthy nuttiness making a drinkable and sweet malty brew.
