COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, French for "season, was traditionally brewed in farmhouses in Wallonia, the French sopeaking southern region of Belgium. The recipe for this golden ale was originally brewed by Ward Argust who was awarded best of show at our Copper Kettle home brew competition. Savoureux combines Pilsener, wheat, ground pepper, and orange peel to create a bubbly tang to the ale.

Cloudy, glowing golden beer - substantial head - nose is earthy, dusty, lightly phenolic and peppery - moderately sweet up front, with significant, tangy wheat flavors - dries out through the middle - citrus, dusty yeast, a flinty quality - some spiciness from the yeast that the pepper piles on top of - moderate phenols - spicy finish, with lingering orange and yeast - it’s good, but overdone - I feel like you can lose the pepper and orange peel and have a much better beer.

Clear yellow. Funky barnyard aroma, including hay and citrus. Taste was slightly metallic, or maybe just too peppery. But aggressively funked. No one nuance really pops out., but I give it credit for being pretty assertive.

On tap @ Copper Kettle Denver. Completely cloudy yellow-orange appearance with a white head. Yeasty, barnyard, lemon/orange citrusy Belgian ale nose. A touch spicy, peppery, lemon citrusy, a touch wild, Belgian yeasty flavor. Peppery, yeasty finish.
