A different spin on a traditional American style, a lager fermented at ale temperatures. With the addition of smoked malt this toasted and slightly fruity beer gains complexity

Pint from cask at the brewery. Pours very cloudy bright yellow with a white head. The aroma is mildly smoky with some meaty notes. There’s a sugary, fruity thing going on that reminds me of bananas and creamed corn, but in a way that’s appropriate for the style. The palate is sweet with some mild smoke. I’m surprised at how much the esters are coming out here. The finish is like grilled bananas and corn. If this were a little more crisp and a little more smoky, we’d have a real winner.
