2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This beer is a clear pale yellow color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Sweet grainy malt aroma. Light body with a bready malt and mild hops flavors. The finish is short and malty with a bit of fruit left over. Straightforward and forgettable Pale Lager overall.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle, thx to faroeviking. A clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Pale malts, grass and some fruity hops in the aroma. Sweet and malty flavor with a fruity touch and a decent bitterness. Medium to thin body. The finish has a fine bitterness. A decent and straightforward pale lager, just like I remembered it from my vacation at Madaira, 10 years ago. Nothing to bring back home though, let it stay at the island. (081213)

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2009 Bottle, thanks Geir Ove!
Butter aroma, some baking soda.
Mostly water, a bit salty, tastes like it was brewed on brackish water. I’d rather have a glass of Madeira, please!

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
A cookie-cutter European pale lager. Must stop buying those. Uninspiring virtually headless appearance. Stale aroma of cardboard and lemon rind. Stop me if you’ve smelled that before. Taste: sweetish malts, corn and a grainy, faintly astringent finish. Poor-quality metallic hop. Could almost be Pride of Ringwood. Good to know it has a European cousin.
