0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Tap. Light in absolutely all ways, barely perceptable yellow color even, and a very pale lager indeed. Touch of cereal in the aroma, with no real bitterness to speak about. Light grain and veg, and beyond thin. Close to water in the feel. Just not good.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
[330 ml bottle, Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn] First impressions are good – golden pale colour, long-lasting deep head and a little carbonation. That’s where it peaks though, as the nose is straw, corn and nothing but. The taste is thin and watery with more straw and very little hops, just a faint grassy whisper. A glance at the ingredients reveals… Malt, Grain, Hops, Antioxidant (E300), Stabiliser (E405). Oh dear. Basic to say the least, it’s another to file under the ‘like Miller Genuine Draft only weaker’ category and to leave well alone.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12oz bottle I picked up in Madeira. Standard Pale Lager. Pours a totally transparent yellow, gold with very little fizzy, white head. Noticeably heavy carbonation. Nose is stale malts, grassy, lightly sweet. Flavor is stale bread and grass. Finish is dry. Worse than a beach beer.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This beer is a clear pale yellow color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Sweet grainy malt aroma. Light body with a bready malt and mild hops flavors. The finish is short and malty with a bit of fruit left over. Straightforward and forgettable Pale Lager overall.
