TBone (11920) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 1, 2013
Bottle @Beer Time, Athens
Clear copper-amber color, small off-white head. Light nutty and caramelly aroma. Light-bodied. Light nutty flavors, caramel, low bitterness. Kind of watered down ESB, but pleasant to drink as such with food.

(.33 bottle at Beer Time, Athens)
Gold, I guess (the pub is dark). Not much head on this.
Restrained hop aroma, slightly sharp fruits, and a bit of peach.
In the mouth, there seem to be some English hops, and there’s a bit of grassiness that turns into a fairly minerally and almost watery finish. Almost aggressively carbonated.
Doesn’t taste 6.5%.
The finish builds in hoppiness, which is good, but the minerals end up converging in a swimming pool.
This would have been sub-3.0 even if they’d not tried to evoke ’real ale’ feelings in the user. This ends up feeling like a hoppy pale lager.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Argonian (248) - Athens, GREECE - OCT 15, 2013
Bottle. Pours a red body, with a small white head that diminishes quickly, leaving almost no lace. Very faint aroma of malts, with a light sweet taste, with notes of caramel. Excessive carbonation level, thin bodied, watery texture. Inoffensive, but lacks character.

humlelala (881) - DENMARK - SEP 10, 2013
(50 cl bottle from Gaia in Parga; BBD: November 3rd 2013; Bottled three months before) Pours a clear, dark amber with lively carbonation and little head that disappears immediately. Aroma has a whiff of what I imagine to be noble hops along with less savoury notes of wet straw, caramel and washcloth. Watery texture, thin body and a strangely carbonated and ascerbic finish. Flavour is a disharmonic marriage of caramel with tart and metallic notes.

Scopey (5529) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2013
Bottle at Aktaion, Corfu. It pours clear deep amber. The nose is brown bread, toast, leather, caramel and metal. The taste is toast, wood, caramel, dark fruit, grainy, brown bread, raisin and metallic notes with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Easy-going malty beer. OK.

Interesting bottle of an English ale from Greece ! Decent colour and head, though always served a little on the cold side. Lacks depth of flavour, but a very encouraging development. Go try,if in Greece ! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Douberd (1705) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 17, 2013
330 ml bottle, from a tourist mini market at Parga, Greece. Poured into a tulip glass. ABV 5% Deep caramel colour, with a good sized head, off-white in colour, with good retention. Lively carbonation in the glass. Very nice aroma, fresh, very hoppy, a bit of caramel, quite fruity. Sweet taste at first with a bit of caramel, turns bitter on the aftertaste, with good duration, less hoppy than the aroma made me think but they’re still there. Thin body, good carbonation and nice, dry palate. Overall, very tasty beer, extra points for the effort they put into delivering their products refrigirated and for having such a short expire date, setting new standards for the greek beers.

Bov (9050) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 25, 2013
from Acharavi, Corfu - hazy red-amber beer with a little foam left; a light spicy hoppiness with hints of caramel; medium-bodied, crisp and quite carbonated, moderate bitterness, a late lemony touch, light earthy tones and more gentle spicyness

bierkoning (9829) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUL 17, 2013
Bottle from Douberd, thanks! Amber color. Peararoma with soft nutmeg notes. Maltflavor with cinnamon, apple. Nutty. Not abundant with flavors and armas but suitable for a warm day.

Borresteijn (4407) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2012
50cl Bottle from a small shop in the Plaka area, Athens. Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of light caramel, toasted malts, nuts. Flavour is light floral, amber malts, nuts, typical English grainy bitter finish that I don’t fancy. Light bodied, OK.
