2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Schroppfy (2328) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Powrot! Not a bad ciemne! Pours clear dark brown, lasting head, ample carbonation, lively body. Aroma of wood, smoke, caramel and spice (bark, cinnamon). Flavors are spicy/herbal, only moderate sweetness (hooray!), low-to-moderate bitterness (so unusual in beers like this and so refreshing!), slight sourness. Is Lodzkie back? In a pretty nice way. Very fresh bottle after the restart...But I don’t see a back bottle label...hmmm...(On full warming this does get really sweet...)
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 D (577) - Gdynia, POLAND - JUL 11, 2006
By no means a stout, but still intriguing. Pours amber, with nice lasting head. Strange finish - slight smokey, caramel and malt notes. Nice.
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tranquillity (1338) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 1, 2006
Bottle, 330ml. Looks more like a lager than a stout. Pours with an unstable head with light-brown colours. The colour is dark mahogany, almost red! Extremely faint smell of trickled sugar and burned malt. Quite interesting taste, burned wood, sweet toffee but very subtle. Finish of herbs and some alcohol (6,8%).
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 29, 2006
Pours pleasant amber with neat fine tan head. Fruity aroma with gentle hints of smoke, roasted barley and caramel. Spicy woody flavour, smooth, soft burnt malt. Alcohol decently covered. Strange beer with spicy character.
