3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 sirPino (883) - Zawiercie/Sosnowiec, - MAR 9, 2010

Bottle brown, 500 ml, 22 P, non - filtered, lagering time minimum 12 weeks.
Appearance: Pours very dark rubby, cherry to black in colour, heavy roasty essence of Baltic Porter, carbonation of the body is not visible due to its non - transparent texture. Head is beige, off - white, cappuccino like, nutty brown, frothy in texture but slightly rocky. Head is initially big, slowly decreasing to small, leaving traces of lacing
Aroma: Aroma presents the alternation between Zywiec Porter and Amber Grand Imperial Baltic Porters styles. Front is woody and revealing a lot of prune and cherry - plum red fruit oriented off - spins characteristic of Zywiec Porter. On the other hand we have dark chockolate and cacao with vanilla oriented aroma characteristic of Amber Grand Imperial. This juncture is positive about this Baltic Porter, however, it is worth noting that the aroma is not that intensive and lively as in the mentioned beers. Maybe that’s due to its natural effervescence.
Taste: Distinct notes of a variety of 4 barley malts, roasted malt and Munich malt are present at front and are accompained with Pilsen malt and caramel malt. Vanilla, cacao, dark chockolate, milk chockolate, some minerality, saltyness, woody - nutty touch known from Zywiec Porter as well as its prune and red fruit off - spins and easters. It would be in the tight top of Polish Baltic Porters if not some chronic, nasty trend of spoiling a brewing mastercraft by adding extra regular white sugar. Finish duration is moderate to long.
Palate: Body is full, texture is quite sticky, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel with perfectly hidden alcohol. Quite pleasureable experience, however, white sugar spoiled that great experience.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Czik (7) - Siedlce, POLAND - MAY 22, 2012 does not count
Would have been a mediocre baltic porter, but then someone made it nearly undrinkable with a fistful of sugar. Only worth it if you really like sweet dark beer, one of the worst Polish porters.

Bottle poured rich brown color with big tan head with good retention. Aromas of roasted malt and earthy hops. Malt and hops balance the flavors of this beer.

21/11 0.5 l bottle, thanks ogivlado for sharing! It poured reddish brown body with smaller head. Coffee, licorice, somewhat alcoholic aroma. Flavor was sweety sugary, but not too bad at all! Again that herbal licorice note was present, creating brew’s character, around which simple caramelized sugary malt builds up. Medium bodied, with short, but very sweet finish. If it wasn’t so sweet it would be much better.
1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Plick (10) - SWEDEN - APR 7, 2012
Beer at Beer Gallery Krakow. Both bottle and beer looks nice, but I found this beer to be disgusting. It is way too sweet. Smell is ok, but the taste is just horrible. Could not even finish the beer and I almost never leave a beer. I prefer a Zywiec anyday compared to this.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Firefly54 (84) - - JAN 8, 2012
Aroma of coffee, roast malt and quite a strong copper note in there. Quite lively mouthfeel, expected it to be more silky. Some hop bitterness followed by some dark fruit and expresso flavours. Ok but pretty disappointing really.

Bottled 500ml. -from Bier-Spezialitäten-Laden, Berlin. Black coloured, medium sized beige head, quite sugary nose which doesn’t promise much. Roasted malt, dried fruits and moderate alcoholic with notes of licorice and plums. Sweet finish.

Croatian November ’11 RB tasting, Ogi’s bottle, found in Berlin. Poured a very dark red body, almost black, tinged with amber. Stable tan head. Sugary oily nose, light alcohol, ehh. Sweet, sugary maltiness, simple stuff, bit roasty, light bitterness, sl. (something). Slightly more complex later, but still, meh, ok.
