The aroma is sweet and malty with obvious hops. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is a bit thin for the style. Overall this is a very drinkable beer but it’s a tad off.

On draft at Corner Cafe. Pours slightly hazy yellow-orange with a small white head. Nose is a hint of caramel with honey, citrus, and sweetness. Flavor is similar with the sweetness of the malt really coming through. Slight citrus hops compliment the sweetness of the liquid. Light to medium in body and finishing with lingering honey and hops.

My Bottom Line :
Dextrinous butterscotch flavors tend to take over this otherwise soft and citrusy Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy copper-y amber.
-This was served very cold like their other beers (this is Florida, after all), yet this one was not as refreshing as it could have been due to the overt butterscotch presence.
-Carbonation is smooth and helps drinkability.
-The citrusy hop aroma and flavour is present throughout, offering decent resinous bitterness as well.

On tap at the brewpub.

glennmastrange (1637) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 14, 2009
Tap. Moderate roasted note for the malt, light pine/orange and soap for the hops and yeast, with hints of pepper, and faint dried fruit in the background. Head is large, creamy, off-white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is slightly hazy, light copper. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic and finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery but a little slick and has a lively carbonation. A refreshing, moderately hopped American Pale Ale.

Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 27, 2009
On tap at the Florida Brewers Guild BeerFest 2009. Pours hazy deep gold with copper core, somewhat frothy off white head and some spotty lacing. It has a nice citrus hop aroma backed up by sugary malt sweetness. Nice bold aroma for the style. Yum. The taste starts off modest in strength with malty sweetness and then moving toward citrus hop flavor. By midway the citrus hop flavor turns into increasing levels of citrus hop bitterness. Into the finish the citrus persists and is joined by a note of grainy malts and mildly drying roasted malt astringency. Overall it ends nice and dry. Solid APA.

At brewpub. Hazy copper, nice lacing. Hoppy aroma is not very aromatic. Earthy but with bright hops. Nice carbonation level, soft carbonation. Lingering earthy finish with some minerals present. Decent APA.

daknole (5854) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 25, 2009
poured at the Jupiter brewfest. Amber pour with a pretty small white head. aroma gives off some citrus notes with some toffee and sweetness. Flavor is actually pretty good for the style. Some good malt notes give way to some good grapefruit peel notes. Pretty well done.

Draft... Clear amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a swirl of caramel and pink grapefruit; also a touch musky. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Well-balanced. Moderate caramel sweetness; medium to heavy grapefruit bitterness. A touch citric. Lengthy, tannic-bitter, dry finish.
