badgerben (3029), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Aug 28, 2007 Growler from Skyview. I’ll admit to being a bit gunshy based on prior experience with this brewpub. Black color with no head. Aroma of milk that is just starting to turn. Tons and tons of milk and dry lactose flavor. Big oats wallop. Roastiness is buried. May be over the top for a milk stout, but it works very well. Damn fine turnaround for this place! JK (2371), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Aug 25, 2007 Sweet. I can taste the lactose. Black beer, and lightly roasted malt flavor. Much too light, but it is sweet enough. Skyview (2693), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 21, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Pours a near opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a fine film and off-white ring. Hardly any lacing in glass. Aroma of dark roasted malt, some flowery hops, molasses, dark bittersweet chocolate and a touch of coffee. Taste is full bodied, light carbonation, and a very high sweet flavor. The lactose is over-powering and could just barely taste the dark malt and chocolate flavors. Finish is just as sweet as the flavor with a candi sugar aftertaste. This has to be the "sweetest" milk stout I’ve ever encountered. JPDIPSO (4197), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 13, 2004 Silky opaque black with a smaller tna head. Aromas of dark berries and roasted malts. Hint of coffee. Thick, but not quite chewy. Roasted malt flavors with a a small amount of blackberries and cream. A very nice effort. Reminded me of the Slab City Milk Stout.
