Skyview (2693), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 21, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in Reedsburg, Wisconsin as "Corner Pub IPA." Pours a semi hazy golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, grapefruit zest and some honey. Taste is medium to full bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of citrus zest, grapefruit, and just barely any caramel malt. Alcohol is a little light. Finish is semi-sweet with some citrus zest flavor. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 6, 2005 Clear, opulent orangish-copper with a thin, creamy gray head. Quite the looker. Honey and caramel impart a sugary-sweet aroma, along with some elements of grass and pine to heighten expectations. First taste is a relief, and a much appreciated deviation from the rest of this brewery’s offerings. Excellent malt support backs up an admirable hops brigade. Creamy yet rigid and abrupt. Sweet caramel, toffee and honey flavors dance on the tongue while the hops work on searing away the fabric of the cheeks. There’s some lemon and cantaloupe astringency, but this one does impress. 1FastSTi (2364), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Apr 10, 2005 Sampled at the brewery. Appearance: Thick cream of wheat rocky head. Copper kettle color. EXCELLENT lacing. HUGE carbonation. Aroma: Dominating grassy, pastury hop. Well-balanced caramel doughy malts. Different than the IPA I’m used to (grapefruit). Palate: Bitter, sharp acidic. JoeM500 (1877), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2004 Festival tap: Amber with a nice hoppy nose. Sugary in the middle, like a sugar cookie. Piney finish is a bit harsh. Medium bodied. JPDIPSO (4197), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jan 19, 2004 Deep orange amber color with a dense rocky head. Light citrus, woody pine and yeasty bread dough aromas. Toffee, pine and orange zest in the flavors. Acidic hops finish. Served a touch to cool by a decent effort.
