Skyview (2657), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 21, 2007 Lucky me, I got the last glass of the season of this brew. On draught at the brewpub in Reedsburg, Wisconsin as "Corner Pub Hefeweizen." Pours a semi-hazy golden blonde brew with a thin white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and white ring. Some spotty lacing on glass side. Aroma of wheat/multi-grain malt, yeast, some banana esters, cloves and even some lemon zest. No slice of lemon needed for this brew. Taste is light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of yeasty malt, some citrus and slight banana flavors. Finish is slightly dry, with a faded banana bread aftertaste. It looks like previous posts may have been rating the former brewmaster’s Weiss beer. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Nov 9, 2005 Hazy Light Gold Coloring with White Skin. Pretty Carbonated. Bad Wheat Taste. badgerben (3001), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Oct 22, 2005 Slightly hazy gold color with no head. Smells like sour candy mixed with grass. Tates like slightly sour water. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 6, 2005 Slightly hazy and very pale yellow with a thin, creamy white head. Souring smell, sweaty gym socks, lemons, apple cider vinegar and canned corn juice. Pils malt flavor, some starch and coriander and, is there such a thing as cloves extract? Stinging lemon acidity and a triumphant return of the corn juice. Absolutely horrendous. JPDIPSO (4189), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Nov 3, 2003 Hazy straw color with a lid of white bubbles. Wheaties and lemon zest aroma (hint of white wine). Floral flavors with light wood, tobacco and slight hint of cloves.
