kujo9 (1043), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Jan 16, 2007 On Tap @ Cornerstone some time around 3/15/06, just found this one in my notes that was not entered: Medium coppery brown, clear, w/ a lasting medium sized off white head. Toasty malt aroma w/ a hint of roast and caramel. Slightly sulphury yeast w/ some green apple fruitiness; clean otherwise. Flavor is well balanced w/ clean toasty/bready flavors and a hint of roast and green apple same as the aroma. Just a touch of dark grain tartness. Fuller light body, smooth, low carbonation adds to smoothness. When I had it I thought that it could have used a bit more age to get rid of the green apple. I know it’s a short turn around style, but I still thought it could aged just a bit longer, otherwise a solid session beer! Underground (5), Akron, Ohio, USA does not count Oct 23, 2006 Great beer. The server said that the brewer wrote a book on this style of beer and it shows. It was nice and roasty, but wth no off-putting sharpness. i drank four pints and would love to buy it in bottles. I hope that they start packaging soon. Well worth the effort of finding the pub (not close to a highway)
