I have been to many nice hotel bars in Chicago/St Louis/Kansas City and am shocked at how popular this beer and Extra are. The nice suit set likes to drink this straight from the bottle.
The best thing about this is the "fun" and "minimalist" packaging and the smell of the lime or lemon wedge. That is it. I think lemon is better then lime with this one. But definitely add the fruit. Do anything to get this one down. Would never buy this for my home or order it with mexican food. It would evaporate next to a hot fajita plate or a chile verde plate... epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle. Very skunky (hops), malty. Flavor is chalky, bitter (hops), some malt that tapers off. Watery. This is a light beer, let’s face it. I would drink this over other light beers though. mmmbeer (744), Austin, Texas, USA

Aroma of yeast and old wheat that has been sitting around for years. Hits the mouth very watery, can barely taste much of anything. Woud give it a slightly higher rating, but I’m not sure if this was beer or water. bluemooner (230), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Feb 11, 2008 On-tap, served in a shaker glass. The bartender at Bar Louie rolled his eyes at me when I asked for the wedge of lime to be served on the side.
L: Crystal clear, pale yellowish golden with a soapy white that quickly settled into a sudsy skim. The carbonation is quite active, steady flow of micro bubbles going from the bottom to the top of glass.
S: Funky, sulphur-like lager yeast, husky spent grain and corn, fusel alcohol and boiled vegetables. A pretty unimpressive nose.
F&T: Crisp, firm moderate body, more rounded feeling than a lot of macro light lagers. The taste is bit of a letdown, sweetly bland. Cooked corn and boiled grain, the malts are thin tasting. Again, the sulphur lager yeast, with a dash of lemon in the middle. Finishes dry, briefly lingering tastes of lemony cooked corn and soda water.
Went o.k. with the mediocre fish sandwich I had for lunch today. I have to admit, adding the wedge of lime did perk up the taste a bit, but this is a beer I will only have when I want something light with a low ABV. Far from the better macro lagers brewed in Mexico.

I’m a light beer drinker and was hoping for more. If you want to try this beer just try a case of Red, White and Blue and send me the difference.
