3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle from Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, served in a stem glass. Pours deep chestnut with a small tan head that fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has lots of herbal hops, earth, chocolate, espresso and possibly a touch of vanilla. The flavour is dry throughout with roast malts and hints of smoke and espresso. Subtle herbal hops peek through at times but remain quite mild. The finish is medium in length, herbal and roasty. On the palate it is medium in body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a decent porter but not as robust as I had expected for a Baltic porter. 2014-09-09

Pour was dark brown with frothy head. Aroma was roasty. Ashy flavor with roast with a nice fruity/berry accent. Perfect level of sweetness. A smooth mouthfeel emerged as this warmed - definitely better slightly warmer. Overall a good show.

I assume this will be el yummo. Dark berries, black licorice, medium milk chocolate, smooth roast, vanilla cake donut, bit ashy. Nice. Thick, tasty and very malty. Pisser that I am convinced this is too carbonated. Very tasty. Mellow roast, medium milk chocolate, bitterness here and there and well placed. Berries, middle taste ash and stuff, vanilla. Really good Ruth average richness - I wish there was more as I prefer a creamier representation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from Total Wine in Jensen Beach, cellar aged 4 months. Pours black with a tan head leaving many spots of lace. Aroma has light whiskey, some roast, nuts, faint chocolate and caramel. Taste is of rum raisin, sweet caramel, nuts, whiskey and a touch of grape. Medium bodied, and surprisingly for style, a bit watery. Finishes muted sweet, and raisin-y, with some alcohol in the length. Shrug? Expected a bit more from Cigar City. 13.4

Bottle. Pours black with a thin off white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a bit of dark grains with light roasted malts and a touch of chocolate. Flavor combines chocolate and dark grains with a bit of bite from roasted malts in the finish.

I’ve been waiting forever to get my hands on any kind of Cigar City brew, even if it is a collab. Pours a dark brown with deep red hue, light brown head. Aroma is candied chocolate, licorice, roasted malts, and light alcohol. I just can’t quit taking it in. I could drink it all as it evaporates through my nose. But on to the taste. Deep chocolate coffee roasted grains up front. Transitions to a bitter bite of hops and finishes thick and satisfying. I’m not a porter fan but I’m going back to the store to get more of these for winter. One of the best beers I’ve ever experienced. If this is anything close to what I can expect from Cigar City, I may just have to sell it all and move to Tampa.

Bomber. I think some fucken Florida dipass sent me this garbage. T. Hanks. And actually, this is secretly my favorite style because it usually exhibits cigarette butts and authentic bar ambience. I fucken chugged this bitch in a few minutes. It was good. Nice and chewy, it was good like unprotected sex with a $50 hooker.
